The Porini Safari Experience

Porini Rhino Camp is small and intimate safari eco- camp is located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a vast 90000-acre wildlife area between the Aberdares and the majestic Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. It is the largest sanctuary in East Africa for the endangered Black Rhino and is also a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.

Porini Rhino Camp is in a secluded valley, on the banks of a seasonal river and under the shade of acacia trees. The Kenyan safari camp in Ol Pejeta consists of just seven spacious and comfortable guest tents, each having been carefully sited to take advantage of the wonderful surrounding views. Each tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-power lighting and ensuite hot shower and flush toilet. The camp is specially designed to have minimum environmental impact (with no permanent structures and using eco-friendly fuel).

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The water hole is an incredible experience, David was most accommodating and helpful. Paul & Patrick did an excellent job guiding & driving . Hanging out on the porch and just watching is an experience itself. Cape buffalos, giraffes, black and white rhinos and herd of elephants at the waterhole.
