Kenya By Road Itinerary & Prices

Day One Pickup from Nairobi at 6 am and transfer by shared minibus to Porini Amboseli Camp (a 5 hour journey of 128 miles), arriving at camp before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to their local village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the camp’s open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle into the conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight. 

Day Two Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing in the camp’s open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will have a sundowner on an observation platform overlooking a waterhole by the camp, where elephants and other animals often come to drink. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Three Morning guided walk or game drive and depart from camp mid morning with packed lunch arriving in time for afternoon game drive at the Nairobi National Park (a 5 hour journey of 128 miles). Spend 1 night at Nairobi Tented Camp (fully inclusive of meals, game drives, sundowner, park fees and drinks – beer, wine, gin & tonics, soft drinks and bottled water). This unique camp is the only camp within the Nairobi National Park which is home to a broad range of wildlife.

Day Four After breakfast depart Nairobi National Park at 7am and drive in a safari minivan, through the great rift valley to the Mara (a 4.5 hour journey of 180 miles). You are booked at Porini Mara Camp for 2 nights (fully inclusive of meals, beer, wine, soft drinks, mineral water, gin & tonics, day and night game drives, guided walks, sundowners and park fees). After lunch take an afternoon game drive, stopping at a scenic point for a sundowner. Dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.

Day Five Following an early breakfast, take a game drive in Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies in search of the Big Five with a Picnic Lunch in the African Savanna. Return to camp in the afternoon . Later, head out on an evening game drive within Ol Kinyei Conservancy – stopping at a viewpoint for a sundowner. Continue on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp

Day Six Take an early morning game drive in the Conservancy followed by breakfast. Mid - morning depart for Nairobi with packed lunch – in a safari minivan arriving around 5 pm (a 4.5 hour journey of 180 miles).  


This tour can also be combined with one or more of the other Porini Camps as part of a longer safari, just ask your safari consultant for more details.
