The Porini Camps in Kenya are situated within exclusive wildlife conservancies in Selenkay, Laikipia and the Mara. Each of our Porini Camps offer an intimate safari experience away from the crowds of tourists in minibuses.
A Porini Safari is the ideal safari for the true wildlife enthusiast who wishes to get close to nature to enjoy an undisturbed personal adventure with a knowledgeable and qualified safari guide, using customised open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles and escorted nature walks in private Conservancy areas.
When you visit any of the Porini Camps, you are directly supporting the country’s biodiversity— and Kenya is one of the leading African countries in making efforts to achieve success in the conservation of the iconic African wildlife and the natural environment.
Below, we have shown some example itineraries including combinations of the Masai Mara with either Amboseli National Park or Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Visit our award-winning Selenkay Conservancy and Amboseli National Park before heading to the Masai Mara. All the big cats have been seen in the Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra, and antelopes. There are also less common animals to be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat.
Day 1
Transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson (domestic) airport for the flight to Selenkay / Amboseli. On arrival at the airstrip, you’ll be met and transferred to Porini Amboseli Camp to stay 3 nights. Settle in at camp. After lunch you will have an escorted walk to a nearby Maasai village to gain an insight into the way of life of the communities living outside the Selenkay Conservancy. You will then drive back into the Selenkay Conservancy. Enjoy a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro then continue with a night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, enjoy a walk with Maasai Guides in the Conservancy. Take a rest after lunch and then go out on an afternoon game drive to explore the Selenkay Conservancy. Day 4
An early breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Wilson, connecting to the flight to the Masai Mara (flight duration approx 1 hour).
