Safari Itinerary & Prices

Day 1
Pickup from Nairobi at 7 am and transfer by road to Porini Rhino Camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Settle into camp. After lunch and afternoon tea, take a game drive in the camp’s open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2
Enjoy a full day in Ol Pejeta with game drives and walking activities from camp. Stop for a Sundowner at a scenic viewpoint and later return to camp for dinner. Overnight Porini Rhino Camp. A visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary is included, and Ol Pejeta offers a choice of additional excursions such as visits to the Endangered Species Boma (to see the World's last two Northern White Rhino) - please ask us for details when booking.

Day 3
After breakfast, enjoy an escorted walk in the Conservancy. Take a rest after lunch and then go out on an afternoon game drive. All the big cats have been seen in the Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra, and antelopes. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight* to the Masai Mara. You will be met at the airstrip by your safari guide to transfer to the nearby Porini Lion Camp to stay for 3 nights. All the big cats are here in the Conservancy, and this is home to many leopards. There are also elephants and a huge variety of other animals. After lunch and afternoon tea you will have a game drive with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlight to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards, before heading back to camp for dinner.

* flight may route via Nairobi depending on passenger number. If routing via Nairobi, you will depart with a packed lunch from Ol Pejeta

Day 5
Awake to the natural sounds of the Mara’s birdlife. Leave camp soon after dawn to explore the Olare Motorogi Conservancy on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. Breakfast and lunch at camp. In the afternoon you will have a further game drive with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive before heading back to camp for dinner.

Day 6
A full day to explore the Conservancies, or take an optional game drive in the famous Masai Mara Reserve* with a picnic lunch in the park and then return to camp in the late afternoon. * Optional reserve fee payable in advance at US$ 100 per adult (now to 30 Jun 2024) / $ 200 per adult (from 1 Nov 2024) / $50 per child. NB for 1 July to 30 September we have already included a one day fee to view the Migration in the Reserve.

Later, head out on an evening game drive within Olare Motorogi Conservancy – stopping at a viewpoint for a sundowner. Continue on a night game drive looking for nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Porini Lion Camp.

Day 7
After breakfast leave camp and drive through Olare Motorogi Conservancy, game-viewing as you go, and on to Ol Kinyei Conservancy, arriving at Porini Mara Camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the exclusive Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies. Here there is an excellent chance of sighting lions, cheetahs and leopards all of which reside within the conservancies. Sundowner and night game drive. Overnight Porini Mara Camp.

Day 8
Following an early breakfast, explore the Ol Kinyei Conservancy on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. Return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a further game drive in Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Ol Kinyei, before heading back to camp for dinner.

Day 9
Final early morning game drive in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, returning to camp for breakfast. Transfer back to Nairobi by road, drop off at Nairobi International Airport or a hotel*

Optional Flight Supplement Day 9 £ 75 per person: Alternatively, after breakfast transfer to the Naboisho airstrip to fly back on the 11am flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, arriving at around midday. Transfer to Nairobi International Airport or a hotel*

We can arrange for you to head to the beautiful white-sand beaches of the Kenya Coast for a few days of relaxation after your safari adventure. Fly directly from the Masai Mara to the coast to relax at one of a choice of hotels, before flying back to Nairobi. Please ask us for more details and prices.
